Our sailing plan on the waters surrounding Guadeloupe – sailing out of Marina Bas du fort in Pointe-à-Pitre (considered to be the center of French Creole Caribbean culture) will include going north to Deshaies on the northwest corner of beautiful Base-Terre and then down to the The Saintes (considered to be some of the most beautiful beaches in the world) as well as making the crossing south to Dominica and back and stopping at Marie-Galante as well.
We will be sharing our navigation details as we move forward and sharing this along the way. The goal is to balance sailing time with time at anchor relaxing, swimming, snorkeling, exploring beaches and inland jungles, and of course sampling some of the best of the local French Creole cuisine and cocktails. Our sailing each day will vary between 2 to 3 hour runs up to possibly one or two 5 to 6 hour runs depending upon everyone’s desires, the conditions at the time, and local navigation factors.
